Virginie – documentary series on grief
October-November 2022
Puteaux, France
5 episodes
Language: French (subtitles available)
This 5-episode documentary series deals with the grief that my friend Virginie went through. This video recounts the death of her boyfriend Clément from leukemia. In these videos, she talks about the difficulty of continuing to live when her daily life has suddenly come to a halt, and about what “mourning” is to her. She describes the inevitable loneliness felt when you lose the person you share your life with, as well as the difficulty of continuing to live. But as the episodes go on, she also tells us how she had to relearn to trust the process, redefine her vision of happiness, and open her heart again.
Personally, I wanted to share this because I think it is just as important to share the difficult moments of life as the easy and pleasant ones. But mostly, it is my way to continue to remember despite the passing years. This is for Virginie, for Clément.
